In my forty five years of marketing, both from within and outside of the “ivory tower’, I have had the opportunity to dig deep into the difference between theory and practice. However, over these forty five years perhaps the most misunderstood concept is that of branding an organization and building its reputation. Most believe it is just an extension of advertising and “getting the word out.” Others think it is a logo or slogan that will grab people’s attention (insert picture of your gecko here).
